Lost EAD card

So my husband lost his phone(with wallet attached) last night. No need for lecturing here (I already yelled at him enough). He is currently retracing his steps and searching for it.

Thankfully he is in the process of renewing. We received the receipt last week and waiting on a bio metrics appointment. We also have pictures of the card (front and back) along with all the paperwork from the initial application and this renewal.

1. Does he need the EAD card for the bio appointment? He has his work ID and mexican passport for photo ID.
2. Will the pictures of the EAD card help at all in this situation?

I know this is horrible timing and probably the worst mistake EVER. I am just so stressed out about it and I really don't know what to do.

He expires in September and hopefully gets the renewal before then.

I think that his Mexican passport should be enough ? does he have a drivers license?

Mexico Passport + Bio metrics Letter should be enough. That's what i used the first time.

He needs a valid federal ID so yes a passport will work fine. He should also file a police report

Should he report to uscis that he lost it? Or just wait for the renewal?

Update

We were able to track down the uber that he took that night and got in contact with the driver. Everything was in the wallet
