I know these questions are answered somewhere in these threads but I literally do not have time to go through them and need to mail this tomorrow morning.

For the money order, i got it at the post office. I know we make it out to U.S. Department of Homeland Security but there is a box for the address. Is this necessary? (I dont use money orders)

Also on the USCIS site under filing tips, it suggest putting the nature of submission on the envelope & cover letter. Also adding the form # on envelope and cover--they don't specify which form. I am guessing this is all optional on that page?

Last question for the money order---we put our alien # and form # but which form #?

Thanks!

I don't believe an address is necessary for the recipient of the money order. Yes, write down your A#, and both form numbers on the money order.

On the envelope you can write down both form #'s and you don't need a cover letter for renewals.

You should send the first top half of the paper that arrived with your EAD in the mail. That form has a bar code with your A# and it makes it much easier for them.

1. Address on Money Order is unnecessary.
2. Nature of submission and cover letter are optional.
You really only want a cover page where you're submitting a lot of stuff, including a lot of supporting documents and you want to outline them for whoever will look at it. If all you're sending are the forms then that's pointless.
