what is the current state of DACA? is it still available for everyone (under the guidelines) to apply? thanks

The courts will eventually rule against DACA. The 9th circuit is probably going to side with us, but the SC is almost likely gonna side with Trump. Earliest the SC can rule is this Fall to next year's summer. It's almost certain DACA will no longer exist in 2020.

do you think anything will get done then? a solution before it ends?

I got my money down that this will drag until early 2020 and everybody will be back here trying to renew towards the end of 2019. DACA will be big in the 2020 election though. We might get a solution in early 2021 if anything. We are in for a long ride. I am guessing by then a lot of DACA recipients will have chosen to move on or will be married, so legalizing the rest who stay in limbo should be easier right....?

By 2020, a lot of us will be older than 30. I can't believe it has been that long, when Dream Act was first introduced, most people were in their early teens.

The oldest DACA recipients will be almost 40 in 2020! You are right that majority will be in late 20s/early 30s. That's why this inaction is so frustrating. Many of us aren't college kids anymore that have time to wait. We've built careers now, and the uncertainty is making it difficult to continue to move forward.

Yeah it has been that long.... The climate has changed from the dream act to whatever thing trump created with his 4 pillars. In the end, they will trade 25 billion for boarder security and wall for daca...

I think democrats will force the issue in 2019, especially if they have the house. They will be campaigning hard on daca and will make promises they need to fulfill. Also, the presidential hopefuls will want to do something big

I am still preparing for the worst case scenario and everyone else should as well. My hope is one more renewal by the end of the year.

4/25 update
DACA will be fully restored per judge orders. That means new applications and AP will be available soon. USCIS will update their website soon I think.

No idea if the supreme court will rule to end DACA or not, IMO they won't. But if they do, there'll be movement in congress about it.

I think the best course of action is to renewal now if you can, you should be able to keep your DACA status until it expires, which should protect you long enough for congress to do something about it in the event the SC rules against DACA.
