Chicago ID

I was wondering if anyone in the Chicago area has had to renew their ID/license recently? I lost my wallet a couple of days ago and my ID was in it. I went to the DMV today with my social and EAD card and the lady who processed my request was notifying me that’s my ID was set to expire in October of this year and if i just wanted to renew it. I said yes cause might as well but then she saw my EAD expiration (10/2018 ) and told me I would only be able to have a valid ID up until my expiration. Which sucks to be honest because the first time I got the ID they gave me the regular 4 year limit.

I sent my DACA renewal in February of this year. Haven’t heard anything since my biometrics appt Im assuming it’s cause I haven’t hit the 150 day mark?

I am sure you meant Illinois ID, Chicago is not a state. Common mistake though.

I have sent my renewal back in January and still waiting post biometrics. I expire in October, so I am sure I have at least another month before being approved.

Haha.. yeah i meant Illinois i was typing it all up too fast I thought Illinois but because I live in Chicago I put Chicago.

When I went to renew my Illinois driver's license they didn't even check my EAD and I got a 4 year DL

when did you go? Wonder if the rules changes recently.

My parents had IL DL. They are planning to renew again this year. I hope they are not asking for immigration status.

Did you show your EAD for renewal or just your actual DL? Cause if they saw the 4 year expiration date on your DL then I think they'll just automatically give you another 4 years. Unfortunately for me I had to use my EAD since I lost my ID and she saw the expiration date.
