What are your thoughts?
I can see how the opposition can use this as another excuse to get rid of DACA, promote anti immigration policies, etc etc

Yes. It supports the GOP narrative that they're all coming here to get free DACA tacos and their base and uneducated people believe it and get scared.

But DACA is different isn't it?? DACA leads to no pathway to legalization whereas these caravans are applying for Asylum which can lead to legalization?

I actually think it is helping us. Because trump is using it as example of how "weak the immigration laws are" and he wants congress to take action.

It wouldn't shock me if it's being funded by conservative, Mercer types to have it all over the news and be able to sell the xenophobia.

I don't blame these people on hurting DACA/DREAM Act. They are refugees looking for a way to survive, and doing it legally by presenting themselves at the US border. Even if they weren't there at this very moment, we would be in the exact same situation we are now.

Of course, Trump and GOP will use this to stoke the fears of his base and maybe get them pumped up to vote GOP in November.

I think it's more then that, besides if this was considered a success for whoever organized it, be prepared to have many more thousands of refugees coming this way.

I do feel bad for these ppl, but my experience with some of them has been a let down for sure.
Couple teen girls at church already pregnant, dropping out of school already asking the government for food stamps. Also my nephew got jumped by some Hondurans that came a couple years ago to steal his sneakers, refuse to learn English and are just troublemakers.
