Guys, I want to move out off my parents home and live on my own. I can easily afford to do so, but I’m a little hesitant with all the news of DACA ending.

My EAD doesent expire till March 2020, so I can live on my own for a year or two.

I can afford to buy a condo or house but that’s too much commitment, especially right now with the possibility of DACA ending.

What do you guys think? I can’t live with my parents forever...

Wait what? Your thread says renting and then you mention buying a condo. Those are two totally different things. I can understand why you might feel uncertain about buying a condo. But renting doesn’t really have a commitment attached to it. If you really want to move out, just rent a place until you get more certainty about your DACA status and then buy a place (though we are not going anywhere).

Personally speaking, I think I would have been married and AOS along time ago if I had my own place. I’m moving into my new apartment June 9, my current EAD expires in October and I submitted my renewal back in January. Fuck it yo, I’m just gonna live

I just bought my own house a month ago. Man does it feel good coming home to your own place that’s not an apartment. I took a wild chance with all this Daca bullshit and bought it.

Please don't delay your life because of daca. The congress is no rush to do anything so in the meantime , keep living your life. There are people buying houses without even daca , so go ahead and rent your place. Just work hard and save money.

If your mortgage payment on a condo would be in the ball park to what you would pay in rent I would just buy a condo instead of renting. If ur "handy" buy one that needs some TLC and immediately add some equity with some renevations. As long as there is no housing crash in the immediate future I think you will be better of buying.
