Haha but they definitely have 218 for a specific bill. Not just the bill the hardliners want. I don’t think the moderates are going to back down without a favorable resolution though.

Exactly. Ryan wouldn't be having meetings and a press conference about the discharge petition if the votes weren't there.

Leadership knows that the 218 signatures are there and the threat of the discharge petition is making them look stupid. They don't have an answer to this DACA problem. Ryan wants a bill that Trump likes yet a bill like that wouldn't have the votes, so he's shit out of luck on what to do.
