They have raised almost a million dollars for 'Daca renewals'. Daca costs $500+. Unless they have paid FOR EVERY SINGLE DACA HOLDER since before the fee increase a few month ago, which clearly they have not, what else do they do with the money??

They work in conjunction with America's Voice and its leader who gets quoted in every immigrant rights article in nat media which I find highly inasppropriate from journalists. Find the immigrant and use his/her voice! Not these people.
I can see a financial scam when I see one from miles away. I have seen UWD request donations for DACA renewals when USCIS was NOT ACCEPTING RENEWALS before the injunction. Their top people are making upwards of $100K easy. It is NOT in their interest for Dream Act to pass. This is 100% certain. So what they do is they act as if they are "fighting for immigrants" and demand "clean dream act" because they know it will never pass.

I agree orgs like these may have started legitimately and were doing a good job but this is corporate america, once orgs start making money and add "leaders" their intentions change very quickly.

They actually tweeted requests for donations to fight for 10 more years!!

Nope. Not a penny.

Keep an eye out. Everyone is out to make $$ from our plight, Daca or non-Daca. Nonprofits scamming legal defense funds allocated by local gvnmts. Lawyers increasing their case fees.

What I meant to say is "organizations like UWD"

How many of us here are truly out there fighting and involved with advocacy? That's how change happens. Posting in forums doesn't count.

Agree. I know I am. Our union is. Seattle politicians are. WA senators do. Our governor and state AG does.

But most here do not. So we all better start. And act locally!

For those who think the discharge petition is the solution to this problem dont forget there is still the Senate. McConnel ain't going to vote on any bill passed by the discharge petition. Get your Plan B in order
