Is anyone else here in the process of adjusting status after DACA? I let my DACA expire (Dec. 2017) because I’m about to send in my AOS application thru marriage... just wanted to start a new thread for experiences. Also, please feel free to share your GC interview experiences! Anyone else a little worried about these new stories coming out about ICE detaining people at their GC interviews? :-/

If you renewed your DACA, this wouldn't be a problem. Right now, you can be deported if you ever get stopped by ICE since you have no protected status. Not sure why you would risk it. Good luck between now and when you get your GC, don't get in trouble.

Honestly no good reason.. just had a lot of delays getting my paperwork together. Never been in trouble, and just hoping everything goes smoothly!

You'll get an EAD/Advance Parole card after they receive your AOS packet, so you'll be good then. Personally, I wouldn't have let DACA lapse before applying for AOS.

Were/are you in a similar situation? I just want to see what everyone’s timelines are. Yes, I shouldn’t have let DACA expire, but my lawyer did say that it was not necessary to renew DACA because once the AOS paperwork is in motion, it’s fine. I can’t turn back time and undo that, just looking ahead to the future!

I had the same opinion from my lawyer. I let my Daca expired but I have an AOS in motion. I am in the same boat as you. I let my Daca expire in January 2018 but sent my AOS package on Aug 2018. My Interview is scheduled for next month.

Wait you mean January 2017? We’re not in Aug. 2018 lol.. How long did it take for you to get your EAD/AP card? And how long did you have to wait to do biometrics and get your interview date? Best of luck to you! Please come back to this thread after your interview and share your experience.. what city are you in?
