Actually that was the cumulative score after submitting the application.
All those got factored in. Pretty disappointed after paying thousands to those thieves/lawyers.

Wondering if other DACA got invited to apply only after getting a Canadian job offer. Or how they've achieved a high score.

ive been in contact with a few DACAers that moved to Canada just a few months ago. they qualified with a 435+ above.

they scored high in the IELTS, a masters degree or multiple degrees. also a skilled level employment for 2+ years.

i guess it's different for everyone... did u calculate your prospective score before officially applying?

Hey
Sorry to hear about your experience.

I successfully moved to Canada thru Express Entry. Let me know if I can answer any questions! I plan to post my experiences here shortly for those looking to move to Canada.

How much did you pay to go through the process?

Did you calculate your possible score before hiring the lawyer?

Without a Masters/Phd/multiple degrees, and depending on your age + IETLS score, a lot of those on DACA will not have a score high enough for an invitation. It is terrible of the lawyer to not have been honest with you about your chances.

1. For Canada PR, your education and job (work experience) do not have to be related to each other. Only your work experience needs to be related to your NOC code ( a code that represents what occupation you are nominating from the skills list). On the other hand, when you nominate a skilled occupation for Australian PR, both your education and your work experience need to be related to each other and to your nominated skilled occupation.

2. Under express entry, Canada has a maximum time frame of 6 months for application processing for majority of the candidates whereas for Australia is ranges between 8–12 months.

3. Australia has a very small list of occupations to choose from. If you don’t have education and work experience in any of those occupations, you are not eligible to apply. If you wish to look beyond this list, you will need to go for state sponsorship, which under the current circumstances are also very limited and oblige you to commit to stay in the nominating state for two years. Canada on the other hand has a long list of occupations to nominate a skill from.

4. The cost of applying for PR is way cheaper for Canada.

Actually it’s changed to 5 years but it’s a huge relief to have permanent status. Canada is COLD haha but really not that different from the US. There’s a couple other DACA folks here with me as well. We’re planning to do detailed posts to share our individual experiences. All in all we’re extremely grateful to be here.

US will always be home and I do get homesick from time to time but it’s a relief to be done with Daca.

I still follow the news - keeping my fingers crossed for some sort of relief for you guys.
