I was taking a trip from Cleveland on Greyhound. When I got to the station I saw the border patrol van in front but me being an idiot still walked straight into the station thinking they only do checks near the south border.

A border patrol agent came asking me what country I'm from. He asked if I'm a student, took my fingerprint on their portable scanner and my name. They were looking at the scanner as though they were seeing my records, but I'm not sure if they were actually seeing anything. He asked my status, which I didn't respond.

He asked if I overstayed. I said yes. That was my biggest mistake. At that point they were ready to take me. Luckily I mentioned my parent had petition for my greencard, which is when they decided to leave me. I don't know if they saw my parents petition on their device or they just pretend they see something to intimidate you into answering.

So the answers that saved me were saying I had temporary status and my parent applied for my greencard and showing my foreign ID.

I encourage everyone to boycott Greyhound.

So what are my options for traveling now. Do they check Greatwallbus? Are their safer buses? Maybe rideshare?

That sounds scary. Do you have DACA?

You got lucky.... Never ride Greyhound. Do Megabus instead.

Don't use Greyhound people!!! They have been letting ICE onboard without a warrant for years.

There have been stories of people getting rounded up on Greyhound all the way back in ~2007.
