Dreamers,

A friend is suing a company for discriminating against him based on his DACA status.

This lawsuit also includes compensation for mental anguish. His lawyer asked him to gather evidence in two parts: 1) how this ongoing DACA rollercoaster (and discrimination related to it) affects us dreamers in general; 2) and how it has affected himself more specifically.

This thread is to compile stories on the former. Please post here, or message me in private, if you'd like to share anything pertaining to your state of mind starting when Trump/Sessions announced that DACA was being rescinded.

Feel free to share anything, but the more usable material will be on the discrimination aspect of this whole ordeal: i.e. work place discrimination you've experienced, being afraid to apply for a new job, being afraid of coworkers finding out about your status, etc.

Your identity will not be shared, not even your username.

Thank you very much. A portion of the recovered funds will be donated to MALDEF under DAP's name.

Let’s stay on topic please.

To OP, I have a friend going through something similar. I made a threat about it. I’ll DM you with more info.

I was upset but thanks to denial I don't have to worry. Plus I knew that the defense of DACA was already well underway and scoring major victories across the country.

If Trump thought he could just kill it cleanly and not have to fight, he is wrong.

I was 37 when they enacted DACA in 2012. Didn't plan on getting old but it sort of happened.

I'll keep it in mind not to get old. What about when you get too old for DACA, or does that never happen?

I think you guys are locked in pretty much forever as long as DACA is around in some form.
