They said that when the Trump administration starts deporting DREAMers and there will be news reports and videos online, people will rise up and protest against it.

We've seen military spouses get split and deported. We've seen thousands of children detained at the border, possibly separated from their families forever, and yes, we've even seen DREAMers get detained for dubious claims (although some in the sunken place like to nitpick their possible past criminal status). Yet, there have been mass protests that have basically brought no change.

Protests didn't stop SCOTUS from banning immigrants from coming from Muslim predominant countries. And these are family members that have a right to immigrate here if their USC children, parents, spouses petition for them. The courts couldn't force the Trump administration to find parents of hundreds of children. Congress can't even come up with a common sense solution to ensuring the well being of these children.

My question is, what makes our dilemma so different? Yes, the courts may rule against us (Hanen certainly will, SCOTUS is a probable). So that begs the question, can we really rely on Congress to save us? Can we really rely on the public to come to our aid in any effective manner? Are we not slow walking to our proverbial deaths? In my opinion, there is no savior that is going to come through the door. And for us to think that the court system will continue to be our saving grace is a folly. At this point, we can hope that citizens mobilize and respond at the polls. But even then, that is a TBD.

Protesting generally doesn't bring about change. The government will continue to do what it wants, but quietly. The media is often complicit in covering up their nonsense in exchange for white house access.

The one thing politicians fear is losing their seat, and thats pretty much the only way to put force on politicians. Sad really. The media is supposed to be on our side.

Contrary to most people I am pleased with the ban on muslims, however to be precise it wasnt a ban on muslims but rather travel restrictions. Calling it a muslim ban is one of the ways certain people redefine things to try and pull your strings, get at your feelies and circumvent your logical thinking components. It restricts travel from Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen. Chad, North Korea, and Venezuela were new to the travel restrictions list, while Sudan was removed

Those nations are hostile against our beloved united states. They can still travel to the united states if they have a visa or valid travel documents.

Congress is very very broken and its going to lead to the end of the nation, because they only act when the situation is dire. You cannot rely on congress unless you've bought politicians. So despite my cheerleading for congress giving us a fair back of the line solution, I am indeed worried they may just fall into girdlock and fail to do anything at all.

Nothing is saving us... Those people are idiots if they think everyone is going to be up in arms for us.

That is all a big lie.

Don't be too sure about it. The mainstream media is on our side. They'd rally the people to our aid.

we have loans, mortgages and all kinds of shit... maybe that can save us. we barely get any benefits on daca expect work and legal stay. the kids at the border has nothing and are a burden really. the immigrants from the banned countries some are refugees although not all so also a burden.

all this families being separated knew their status just as we know our status.. once DACA ends we are also up for deportation and separation.

yeah i know I am a green card holder but it could not have happened without DACA. although i get the benefits of green card, my heart still is with DACA.
