Unless you do not have time.
I am pretty sure you mentioned you paid a high priced lawyer when you attempted to AOs

i know this is old... but what exactly will a lawyer do? you will provide them with the data to fill in the form. that's all. your application will not jump the line. it won't get higher priority and lawyer won't help you two during interview. anyhow.. good luck

For one, OP is still technically undocumented so even though he has a far easier path to adjust his status, he's still on their radar and as we've seen, immigration has been contacting ICE to come to interviews. He may be in the right but it sure as hell is a lot less stress to know that there weren't any mistakes made in the paperwork and if the shit hits the fan, he doesn't have to scramble to find a lawyer at the last minute. It's not about jumping the line. It's about not making a dumb mistake that will either delay things or accidentally causing an issue.

For others if they have any other issues (EWI, Removal Order, Exclusion, 245i, etc.), it'd be dumb not to get a lawyer now days.

My lawyer will attend the first interview. It's an insurance to make sure basically there is 0% chance it'll get rejected.

Probably mostly from people who have never felt the REAL wrath of USCIS. When you have a "straight forward" process go awry in like 10 secs you'll have an appreciation for a good immigration lawyer. BTW keyword there is GOOD

Yeah they think just because they filled out a DACA form during the Obama years that the rest of the process is just as easy for everybody.

Get an attorney. They should be able to retrieve the I-94 for you through a CBP FOIA and collect all the necessary documents to prove bona-fide marriage. It isn't a walk in the park like DACA.

I've read that process alone can take months, 3+. If you have the stamp on the original passport, its enough. I sent a copy in the AOS package, at the interview the officer didn't even look at the original passport & stamp

hiring an attorney is a good reassurance, but in a straightforward situation like OP its not that difficult if you thoroughly prepare
