Read back a couple of pages. Some of us are going through the removal of conditions now. You won't get renewed before your conditional card expires as currently the timeframe for removing the condition is about 18 to 24 months. You can apply for citizenship before the removal is removed at that point. Just make sure you send in your paperwork during your window and you'll get a letter in the mail stating your conditional status has been extended for 18 months.

I still can't believe that they are extending 18 months off the bat.

I agree. you would assume that it will be faster than AOS.

Can confirm. It took my mom 18 months to complete her ROC. She had to get her conditional status extension at a field office, though. The automatic extensions didn't start happening until recently. By the time I apply in April 2019, I'm sure the time frame will be closer to 24 months. FML.

I've heard about people filing for citizenship while the ROC case is pending to expedite it. But doesn't it sound like the kind of workaround that USCIS will catch up to and eventually disallow?

To clarify, do you mean that you're allowed to submit the N-400 and I-751 at the same time?

P.S. What's everyone submitting for ROC evidence?

How long is it currently taking to get green card? I am planning on getting married early next year. Do you guys think I would have green card or even EAD w/advanced parole card by December? Trying to plan my life. Thanks!

I doubt it because we're still green card holders. You are allowed to submit the N-400 when you're eligible (90 days before 3rd anniversary if married to USC, 90 days before 5th anniversary if not married to USC), even if the ROC hasn't been adjudicated yet.

The individuals targetted were in proceedings or had an order of removal/deportation.

Technically, the individuals should have filed a Stay of Removal/deportation and perhaps file it with the court with a motion to re-open.

Hey guys.

I recently got married and the wife and I will begin the AOS process soon. We got married last Friday and we've been proactive about getting things ready.

So far we...

1. Picked up our official marriage license at the County (yesterday)
2. Opened a joint bank account at the local CU (today)
3. She went to the SS office to request a new card, she took my name (today)
4. She's going into the DMV next Monday to get her CA Real ID Drivers license with updated name
5. We have a copious amount of pictures dating back from Aug 2015 when we started dating. She saved all of our boarding passes to places we've traveled, and we've traveled around the country extensively. Probably around 30 boarding passes each. She also created a scrapbook of our adventures and has added to it periodically.
6. Added her to my insurance (yesterday) since my benefits are much better.

Is there anything else we should have?
-How do we prove we live together. She hasn't forwarded her mail to my place yet
-We don't have kids (yet)

Any tips/advice would be greatly and immensely appreciated, or if you could point me to a good post/page with more info.

Thanks again!
Biggest thing you are missing is proof that you both live at the same address.....where is the lease?
