I think just saying you are afraid to fly is a very normal excuse. Then you don't have to worry about it. Maybe someone will offer to drive ? Or you could always go greyhound - it is actually pretty cheap (another good excuse)

There is this great excuse I once heard from a friend I met a long time ago. She had this ear condition where if she flies, her ears will explode! There was some weird fluid thing going around, she's deaf in one ear. So she chose to drive from Alabama to California. Just say that you don't want your ears to explode during take offs. People will believe you.

ARe you serious? That's crazy! imagine if your ears explode! "BOOOM!" HAHAH LOL...i do believe you...they wont believe me tho...lol...i think i will go for opti and MrsMom 's excuse, it sounds reasonable...

about the rape thing: the girls are kinda hot... :P so, that's not a good excuse...

That is crazy. Naw but for reals here is your excuse. I cant I am on medication for anxiety and I know I will just freak out on the flight. Or just say sorry cant guys. THey will get over it. Hell no! don't tell them Ive known my friends since we were freshmen and one since I was 12 and they dont even know.

bluedreams... say you have another trip booked and one of the days overlaps (or two), therefore you have no choice... Family Wedding.... etc...

All of the advice given are great (except for the flies and ears exploding that sounds a little sketchy) But if you don't really know them you shouldn't go. It would be a different thing if they were your friends since grade school or something. Anyways florida aint that cool....lol
