Hello everyone,

My name is Laura and I wanted to congratulate all of you for the hard work you are putting into this bill that God willing will become a law.

I came to the US in 2002. I live in North Carolina and work for a non-profit that provides direct services to Latinos.
Is anybody from NC?

I'm just very excited about this forum and very proud of you all.

Laura

Guys,

I went to a UNC forum yesterday and spoke about the need for the Universities to open the doors for undocumented immigrants. I told them about the dreams and talents that young immigrants have and their desire to get higher education, better jobs and an opportunity to contribute to society.
And of course I asked them to be more active about supporting the Dream Act.
It was really cool that I got to speak in front of everybody. I was very nervous though, but they clapped very hard at the end and several people told me that what I said was powerful.

Check ou their website http://www.nctomorrow.org/ and if you live in North Carolina, I strongly encourage you to attend this event. It's open to everybody and they have an open mic. Guys this is an opportunity to say whatever you want and the rest of the audience can't do anything else but listen to you.
We need the presence of the immigrant community there. Yesterday There were only two Latinos in and auditorium filled with more than 200 people.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this with y'all.
