So from a recent encounter at the airport; a TSA screener(at a west coast airport) mentioned that they are being told to enforce the Real ID requirements in full. I saw two travelers being pulled aside after their ID said not for federal ID purposes. The TSA screener simply asked for another form of ID like school or passport, but both individuals traveling had neither. The TSA screeners transferred them for further inspection by patting them down and went over them with a wand and then allowed them through. Both individuals mentioned they were citizens while I was waiting my turn.

But would our EAD's as other form of ID? Never been out the state before so not sure what the process is like leaving vs coming back into the state via airport.

Can confirm NY is not accepting DACA for Real ID. I was just told by this very loud supervisor at the DMV and had to do the walk of shame cuz I’m sure half the ppl waiting heard her scream telling me I need a green card for real ID.

Good get a foreign passport...

If you can't then that is a problem. Unless you are from Venezuela or North Korea then use the EAD.

Wouldn’t you need a valid visa if you show a foreign passport? I don’t get it.

Not for TSA purposes.

A DL and a foreign passport are fine.

Note: unless you fly to some sort military base and or airports where CPB checks the status of people on board planes, I believe there are two such airports. Very close to the Mexico border in TX I think. Anyone can confirm this?

All airports are within CBP jurisdiction. However, they seem to monitor local flights mainly if they are within 100 miles of the border.
