So I'm thinking of traveling to Hawaii soon from Los Angeles. Has anyone traveled recently anywhere and how was your experience? Safe?

Yes. It’s safe. I’ve been to Hawaii 5 times, no issues. You do a customs form while on the plane, about 45 min before you land, sans the passport. My wife and I are going to Kauai for our honeymoon. Which island you visiting? Oahu is fun to party and you can drive to the north shore to get a local feel.

Nice, that's cool to hear!

Did you use just your DL or EAD? and where did you travel from?

I just used my California license. I’ve flown from San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. You’re gonna love Hawaii. Let us know how your trip goes!

My wife and I are going to Kauai. Real ID not needed yet, if you have one from California.

Just came from Hawaii last month. However, on the Real ID, I did see that they were enforcing it at the airport when returning to the mainland. If your ID says not for Federal ID purposes, they automatically pulled people over for further screening.

Despite that, it was a great place to visit. Plan on going again early next year.

As Anus has said, it is a great place to visit. I’ve been there with DACA and a DUI on my record. No problem.

Reading about successful trips fellow users made is reassuring. I'll be going to Hawaii in 3 weeks. Should be quite fun.

My gf has a f1 visa...should be fine to show just real id DL right?
