Why are we not included in spending talks - Page 2

Thanks for the input guys. The optimist in me thinks that it’s a good thing that Dems have left us out of the talks. Dems are letting Trump take 100% the blame of shutting the government down because he didn’t get the wall versus Dems shutting the government down over DACA again. By keeping our name out of it, they’re refusing to give Trump more ammo.

They’ll probably be a CR into January and by that time dems will have a stronger hand in the appropriations process since they’ll control the house. We will then have to wait and see if they’ll use that power to help us now or use us as bait for 2020.

I think the worse case scenario for us is that Trump doesn’t shut down the government or a CR passes for all of 2019.

However there’s protections in this year’s appropriations thanks to Aguilar (https://aguilar.house.gov/media-cent...portation-pass). We gotta check to see if it’s in the final bill but it’s currently in the House’s bill.

House is not a problem. It's the Senate and the White House.
