Hey everyone,

Today I received my letter of approval notice.

My question is: my current DACA expires 03/03/19. The letter states that the approval is valid from 12/21/18 to 12/20/20. I assumed the new approval would start around the time the current one expires (03/03/19) give or take. I'm essentially getting about a year and 9 months of DACA. Sent my renewal applications November 5th and they received them on the 7th. Did biometrics November 30th.

This happen to anybody else or have information regarding this?

Thanks in advance.

the two years of DACA begins on the date of your approval. It doesn’t matter if you expire March 3, 2019. If you were approved for renewal on December 21st 2018, then you will get DACA for two years beginning on that day.

It sucks because you lose the time in between

There really isn't a rhyme or reason to what USCIS does. This renewal it was valid from the date of approval + 2 years so I lost about 5 months. I filed super early right after the NDCA injunction, like 14 months before my current expiration.

Prior to that I filed on time and was approved in 12/17 with the following EAD being valid 3/18 to 3/20.
