This morning, I introduced legislation with @SenRobPortman that returns to the basics of what a majority of my colleagues and @POTUS support – providing the necessary resources to strengthen and modernize border security and long-term certainty to DACA recipients.

This legislation would establish a $25 billion trust fund to better secure our borders and codify DACA protections.

But with bridge act it will be alot harder for them to take our protections away. So I'll take it if it comes to it.

I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support @SenRobPortman and I’s sensible solution that provides us a realistic path forward to resolve this partial government shutdown.

This would "codify" DACA meaning you can renew for 2 years for good.

Too bad you can never leave the country.

It has no bipartisan support plus Durbin wants an actual permanent fix. I don't think it would pass the house, if it even passes the senate.

What if it codified the original DACA terms. Which would allow AP

stupid measure and wont pass, they should better bring a legislation which gives conditional GC to dreamers, TPS and H1 for 5-10k each. there will be 3-4 million in this pool. make conditions like no crime, no dependence on public welfare, a college degree (2 or more years). make it 10 years and after that we can apply for unrestricted GC and eventually citizenship so total 20 years path to citizenship.
most of us care about our jobs and a stable life, dont care if get a US passport now or 20 years later. next time a dreamer goes onto TV should propose it.

Justice Ginsburg, who is working from home, participated in this morning's conference in which the court discussed new cases they might hear, including DACA, transgender troops, etc.

Any new cases the court is hearing could be announced as soon as this afternoon

Graham: I just met with President Trump and his team. It’s clear to both of us that Democrats don’t want to make a deal and will never support border wall/barriers on President Trump’s watch, even though they did so in the past.

Graham is useless lol. You can’t convince Trump to support a dream act /border wall deal though right?
