I really hope this is just posturing, otherwise things are looking pretty bad.
They are going to use us for their presidential campaign. Hey vote for the dem nominee and we will pass the Dream act .

@seungminkim
Some news --> Perdue met Trump privately for lunch at the White House yesterday (not on his public sked) to begin talking border. "He wants as simple of a solution as we can get," Perdue tells me, meaning no broader immigration deal

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...433_story.html

Don’t expect a daca deal within 3 week. We are done for this year.

LOL Trump already made up his mind. He is going to declare a national emergency. POTUS likes bombastic actions.

To me that doesn't make a lot of sense if they're actually serious about passing the dream act. You need 60 votes in the Senate, have majority in the house and win the presidency for that to happen.

Plus dems have a lot of other priorities to campaign on. The dreamers is such a small population compared to America. The weight of dreamers is not heavy on voters' minds as there are more pressing issues.

The only way this makes sense that dems are not actually serious about the dream act at all. Save it for a campaign issue that might effect maybe less than 100k votes by letting 700k people live in uncertainty. I'm pretty sure there are other issues they can campaign on that'd swing more than 100k votes.

At election time, I'm pretty sure dems will lose more votes than they gain (or at best equal) because voters will see dems as weak when they could've had an opportunity to have a win (or at least somewhat a fair trade for the wall) on immigration during this shutdown period. So it's a really dumb strategy to hold dreamers hostage until 2020.

Committee hasn't even had their first meeting, if he was going to declare a national emergency he would have done it by now.

Everyone needs to chill and see how it plays out

LOL every politician is already telling you that they wont negotiate DACA. Trump just wants the three weeks to end so he can blame Dems and then call his national emergency.
