The statement, issued through five law firms and a management company, says 21 Savage, born She'yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, is from the United Kingdom and that he lost his legal immigration status in 2006, when he was barely a teenager.

"As a minor, his family overstayed their work visas, and he, like almost two million other children, was left without legal status through no fault of his own," Charles H. Kuck, a lawyer for Abraham-Joseph, said in a statement issued Monday.

In a separate statement issued Tuesday, Abraham-Joseph's representatives explicitly compared his situation to the roughly 700,000 young people who are legally in the U.S. because of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA. The Trump administration's attempts to repeal DACA have been blocked repeatedly in court.

"These 'Dreamers' come from all walks of life and every ethnicity," the Tuesday statement says.

The jokes and snide comments regarding his situation are unwarranted and quite frankly anti-Black. I would expect better from people who even with squeaky clean backgrounds are one check-point or court order away from facing the same situation.

And FYI, I will ban anyone making jokes , posting memes or making inappropriate comments about his deportation faster than Demi Lovato deleted her Twittter account.

As far as I'm concerned, he's one of us...with more money and fame.

People on here forget there are black dreamers on this board . I’m black myself and sometimes I get discouraged by some of the comments I see from our Hispanic dreamers on this board.

I'm Black as well. Some of the comments are insensitive, frankly uncalled for. Truthfully speaking being Black has help me slipped through the cracks, go unnoticed for thus long.Because of his crimes, i cant say i feel bad for him, but i know this, he had money and influence and that should help him. With his U Visa pending it's my belief, he be just fine.

So, what we’re not going to do is create an environment where non-Hispanic DREAMers feel unwelcomed. On this, I will be a fucking dictator. And if you don’t like it, you can send a message to Nick.

I have let ALOT slide (i.e. the use of the n-word, the constant bickering, etc.) but I am not going to allow anyone here to create a hostile environments for immigrants who already feel invisible in this movement. Furthermore, this is a public forum and this is a high profile deportation. So, no, people who are a hop skip and a jump away from being in deportation proceedings should not be making jokes about another DREAMer when we are one of the first search results on Google.
