Hi Friends,

Can anyone please help me to know if my friend can make Washington state ID or Driving License without ssn and immigration status? Please note that friend do not have anything besides his country unexpired passport, Washington residence proof and birth certificate. Does anyone here lives in Washington state and know if the DMV is flexible with the documentation? Or they are very strict? I know only Washington state that gives license to people without status not sure about other states. Appreciate everyone for any information.

Thanks

Not sure about WS but in illinois if you can prove your identity you can get a driving license which is good for driving only. I know a handful of other states have such licenses for undocumented aliens.

Yes your friend can obtain a DL/ID in Washington State. They have stronger requirements to prove residency in the state and I've heard that they are known to do residency interviews.

Same with Connecticut, you can get a Drive Only license. I believe Maryland is one of those states that you can get a full drivers license.
