passport and i-765?

Hello Friends,

I have a friend who is trying to renew his Daca, on the new i765 form it's asking for his passport expiry date and he only have expired passport, he does not have his passport, it is in ICE custody. Back in 2006 ICE picked him up and got release on bond and they kept his passport told him to come to the court hearing and get the passport back, but he never did went to his court hearing and got deportation order issued against him. He got his first daca approved around 2013, but back then they did not ask any question about passport on i765 form, now they do,
so does anyone know how can he get his passport back and renew it? and will it be okay if he puts expired passport date on i765 form?

Passport info are for immigrants with visas applying for EADs. You don’t need to put that info. Your friend will need to find out what he needs to apply for a passport through his country’s closest consulate.
