I filed it on my own. Description was:

I request a copy of all relevant documents and information surrounding the following incident:

Encounter with Customs and Border Patrol (CBP)
Name: your name
DOB: your date of birth
Alias: name you gave to CBP during encounter, if different than above
DOB on record: date of birth you gave to CBP during encounter, if different than above
Date of encounter: on or around, date
Location of encounter: approximate location

Thank you for your consideration of this request.

NOTE: If you gave CBP an alias (fake name), and you don't know/remember what alias you gave them, they will not find your record. The best thing you can do is do an OBIM FOAI request, wait for the results, then submit a CBP FOAI with the results of the OBIM FOIA.

Let me know if you have any questions about the OBIM FOIA. I had to do this for my case.
Are you doing the 601a ?

Correct, you first have to pay the IV and AOS fees to be eligible for the 601A application. Once you submit it, USCIS will let the NVC know that you have pending waiver application.

Not sure about your last question, but my guess is that the consulate will know about your daca denial. I am also not sure if that will affect your visa. I'd check with a lawyer to be sure.

Oh!! okay.

I honestly don't know... but doesn't sound like something that would disqualify you for a visa.

OBIM FOIA’s have a smaller narrative space than CBP’s. When you got both, Is the narrative the same on both? Like “This alien blah blah blah”. Is all the narrative the same? Or shortened on OBIM since their space is smaller?

For the OBIM FOAI, I submitted it via snail mail.

Just to reiterate, the OBIM FOAI results will only include a record of names used with your fingerprints. It will NOT indicate whether you were given voluntary or expedited return.

Since CBP could not find my record via "name check", first I requested an OBIM FOIA via snail mail with a copy of my fingerprints on a standard FBI fingerprint card. Then, I used the results of the OBIM FOAI to request a CBP FOIA.

The good news is that the OBIM FOIA only took 4-5 weeks. They'll send you the results via Email, if you include an email address in your request.

IMPORTANT:
For OBIM FOIA, you also need to sign and submit the Affirmation Document. I have attached it below.
Attached Images
File Type: jpg OBIM FOIA instructions.JPG (129.3 KB, 3 views)
Attached Files
File Type: pdf Affirmation_Document.pdf (135.6 KB, 2 views)
File Type: pdf OBIM_FOIA_Request_Template.pdf (37.8 KB, 1 views)
