With the current news, I will be contacting lawyers to have my final order of removal re-opened. I would like to know if anyone else has been through such a procedure.
I had previously spook to a lawyer a few years ago and they'd advised against doing so, and instead requested that I just law low. With Trump's previous threats, I'll certainly attempt to have it closed.

Let me know if there is anything I'll need to know.

After Sessions fucked everything up it's extremely hard to get an administrative closure.

Basically I'd leave the order alone until you get some path to legalize.

Hey, could you expound on what Sessions did to cause it to be so difficult?
[EDIT]
Never mind, I see he renigged a judge's ability to perform administrative closure.

Yes, also even with Obama, it wasn't likely to have a re-opened case terminatied with DACA alone. There are limits until one seeks AOS.

There was a report that the current administration was trying to rec-alender previous orders, but have not seen or read any recent reports. I assume with sessions gone that may have halted?

Yeah he in "Matter of Castro-Tum" ruled that immigration judges do not have much authority to grant administrative closure aside what was authorized by statute or federal lawsuits.

Getting an administrative closure is pretty much completely impossible these days except a few cases. Pretty much the best option is to leave the order alone until something that can help you legalize comes along.

It probably was halted since neither the courts nor ICE really want to work through the backlog. My case was admin closed sometime in either late 2017 or early 2018, I don't remember the exact date but it's still closed and it will probably stay that way for a long time. Matter of Castro-Tum was decided in May 2018 so I definitely lucked out quite a bit.

I'm currently in the process of reopening my administrative closed case. The courts are so impacted right now that the cases are taking more than 6 months to even recalendar. The only reason why I'm even attempting to do it is because I can AOS through marriage. Just taking so long, 2 plus years now.
