Can you please cite where you got the requirement that a passport without visa and i94 are invalid? I went to TSA gov site and see nothing about visa and i94. Thanks

Q: What if an applicant states he or she has been in the United States for a number of years and does not have a valid passport or EAD?
A: Citizens from these countries who entered the United States lawfully years ago may have passports that have expired and have not applied for an EAD. Regardless of whether or not the applicant has a valid passport, he or she will need to obtain an EAD from USCIS in order to be issued a REAL ID-compliant document.

Q: What if an applicant states he or she has a valid passport but not an EAD?
A: According to the REAL ID regulation, applicants for a compliant driver’s license or identification card who present a foreign passport must also have a valid visa attached to the passport along with an I-94, as evidence of identity. A passport with just an I-94 is not acceptable evidence of identity under the regulation. Therefore, for purposes of establishing identity, an applicant from the Freely Associated States (other than one with a previously issued REAL ID compliant driver’s license or identification card) will need to obtain an EAD from USCIS in order to be issued a REAL ID-compliant document. Nothing will prohibit a state from issuing a noncompliant driver’s license or identification card until they can obtain an EAD.

I believe that i94 and valid visa is only needed when you are applying for a real ID compliant driver's license or ID card. It does not state that it's required for domestic flights.

I know the link I sent you is specifically for driver's license but the same standard applies for flights. The whole purpose of RealID (Besides post 9/11 anti-immigrant rhetoric) is to prove legal status and a passport by itself does not do that.

I agree with you. But I'm not finding anything on TSA site that directly states a passport with valid visa and i-94 is required for domestic flights. Thanks

Oh a lot of them have switched to Tesla now. I like to think I'm pretty liberal myself, especially after having lived in such a conservative state for so long, but whenever I go to a super liberal city, even I have to stop and think "Ok fellas, that's too far" sometimes and then wonder "wait, I hope that doesn't make me a Republican".

Cali is one of the main states for any raids. Exit asap. Go to like Nebraska. Or Dakota.

I was a consultant and spent 3 weeks out of the month in every region of California. I would take random road trips and joy rides (along with getting a number of speeding tickets). No issues ever. Now I travel about every 3 months for about 1-2 weeks. I was just in Long Beach and LA area.
