How about you do the I130 yourself and get their services for the 601a? It will save you money. On the average 601a cost around 5k lawyers fee. And i recommend getting a referral from someone you know.

My overall price for my lawyer with fees was around 5k but this was also discounted due to having had used the same firm before on another unrelated case. My case was also EWI>AP>AOS through spouse.

I know in this website, everybody is an armchair lawyer but a lot of us have complicated cases, especially those with removal orders, etc. so it's a landmine out there. For me, having had an incompetent lawyer when we first arrived here who is partially responsible for my current mess, I'd personally want a firm that has been around for a while, knows the local immigration officers and their tendencies, etc. As such, if I have to pay a premium for someone with 30 years of experience, so be it. If you have DACA and can still bounce back from a screwup, then it may not be.

Just remember that lawyers are people and new graduates have a shit ton of student loans so they may bite off more than they can chew.
I know for complicated cases Laurel Scott is good, have you heard of her?

No I googled her and her site says:

The firm specializes in a particular type of case known as the I-601 waiver of inadmissibility for the spouse of a citizen who has been denied a visa to the United States despite being married to a US citizen, usually because of prior immigration violations or criminal history.
So it's exactly what Mercpop is looking for if he lives in the area. My thing is different though.

I hired her for my regular AOS case.

She does everything online, one can met her in NH if necessary.

But in my case it wasn't.

So OP should look into her.

Never hurts to comparison shop and see what kind of vibe you get from the lawyers in addition to the price. I don't have experience with Mana's firm first hand but knew of her when she started her firm and she seemed trustworthy. lol "How did you hear of us?"

Honestly it'd be nice if they would pop in here and answer questions now and then. Might get some clients too.

Not extremely complicated. Definitely not to justify 8k.
