I just sit in the office and pay him to fill out the same forms I can fill out myself.

Its frustrating that they don't have the same goal as I do.

One screwup and I'm screwed, but their interest and liability ends once paid.

It's like an adversarial role instead of a partnership.

To further compound things, the man speaks English first, Spanish second. But it's all done in Spanish. His poorly accented Spanish.

What, exactly, are you having the attorney file for you?

If it's your DACA renewal, why are you having an attorney do that for you? It's super simple to do...

Regardless, you shouldn't hire an attorney to do something for you if you do not feel you like them or their work. Fire him/her and get a different one with a better reputation.

How much are you paying for them to submit the renewal for you? LOL OMG What a waste of money.

The most I'd pay a lawyer to file my DACA renewal is about $50 and I'm being generous. At this rate I'd be paying them $300/hr + the filling fees, now of course these con artist are not going to charge you that little. You'll probably shell $1500 to these thieves.

It takes 10 minutes* to complete a renewal. All you have to do is....

1) Make sure you save your previous renewal on your computer and email it to yourself as well so you have a copy in case something goes wrong with your machine. (Personally I avoid Gmail at all cost - hit me up via DM and I'll give you some safe alternatives)

2) Download the latest versions of the I-821d, I-765, G-1145 (optional but highly recommended!), and I-765WS by visiting
https://www.uscis.gov/i-821d

3) Open your previously approved forms and the new ones you downloaded, have them side by side, copy the information from your previous renewal, and paste it onto the new form.**

4) At this point, print out your renewal documents, go to the local walgreens for some passport pictures, write out a check to US Department of Homeland Security for $495.

5) Head to your local post office, UPS, DHL, whatever service you use - just ship that sucker and ask for the fastest shipping with tracking info - this will run you $20. With the filling fee, next day shipping, and passport photos, you're dropping $525 for your renewal vs the $1000+ that these clown grifter lawyers will charge you.

If anyone wants me to do their renewal, I don't offer this service unfortunately for legal purposes, but I'm happy to help if it means saving you hundreds and thousands of dollars.

Why am I doing this? Not because I am a people pleaser, rather because I am a people person. Lawyers see the dreamer and immigrant community as nothing but money signs. Don't let these mini Donald Trump grifters fleece you of something anyone with a pulse and a heartbeat can do on their own.

Good luck.

*Be aware that if this is your first attempt at renewing your DACA via the BB1984 method, you may not hit the 10 min mark It's important to work on accuracy over speed at first

**If anything changed from your previous renewal i.e, address change, marital status, approved travel, etc - be cognizant of that and appropriately record this information.
