Some of us may be assuming, some of us may be right.

In the end, you lied on a legal form (I know many of us are guilty of this one way or another), but lying in a college form can be rather serious, especially when it deals with financial matters. Did you read all the terms of what you filled out? Did it require you to be a resident/US citizen?

When I went to college that was the first thing I looked for and I would stay far away from applications that required a social, resident or citizenship documents. Why take the chance with something that I would not be approved for?

I think some users here are right, go ahead and and look for a lawyer and hopefully you can get out of this without a scratch.

I'm assuming your bf doesn't know your status? It is touchy and I can completely understand if you haven't shared about it if the relationship is only a few months old, sharing this kind of info can have many drawbacks if the relationship fails in the future, especially if the relationship becomes toxic. I would only share my status if it was many months into it.

Good luck and please do yourself a favor and read through an application's requirements, this applies to jobs as well.

She stopped replying as soon she realize she was wrong. She came to get empathy here and was thrown out instead

"No its not wrong to put a fake SSN in a legal form! DHS said it was okay!"

Her post is a missing some vital information, but if she claimed to be a citizen, she has bigger problems than a few thousand dollars and some college credits. NEVER claim to be a citizen if you have any hopes of adjusting status. You will never be able to, there's no waiver for that and you will be denied!
