Anyone applied for unemployment ? If so did they ask you to mail in a copy of your EAD. (WORK PERMIT).. i live in NY and they approved me but asked me to mail in a copy of mine and now its been weeks and no payment or anything. Sucks because i wouldve been gotten paid but because of this I'm in the backlog of cases.

I’m from NY and everyone is complaining about unemployment. The good thing is you got approved and you will get all the weeks you are unemployed for but it’s just going to take a while. Everyone is backlogged and NY Dept of Labor is hiring more people to keep up with the unemployment claims. Meanwhile, you will get a stimulus check this week if you filed your taxes and did direct deposit if you are in need of money.

I applied in California on March 29. Waited 2 weeks to certify the benefits. Did them on Sunday. Shows that I got paid for the 2 weeks on Monday. Now I am waiting to receive the debit card. They have not asked me for anything. They mention they have no reason to doubt my claim but lying is a crime etc etc. on their terms and conditions.

Same as lakers 1824,

I live in California and they did not ask me to provide them with any proof. I think they verify electronically, as I did provide my "Alien number."

It has been rather smooth.

Yo, are you getting that $600 from the CARES act deposited into your unemployment?

yes. Just got the debit card yesterday. I am in California. Don't know about other states. $1200 for the 2 weeks and $430 per week. Total came out to $1980 for two weeks after they took some taxes. Don't know if it was a 1x thing or it will continue until I find a job. I know I am only eligible for 6 months. I hope to be back @ work before then.

Damn you guys are lucky in California. I’m still waiting here on NY. Don’t know why they asked for my A# and then asked me to mail in the EAD. Frustrated Isn’t even the word man.
