I want to send my renewal application in but I went to both Walgreens and CVS and they are not doing them right now. Before I start doctoring a wallet sized unnecessarily, anyone’s got accepted without them? It’s not like they use them anyway, they use the one from biometrics.

I didn't send passports photos this last renewal and I was approved just fine.

But you can try Costco if there is one in your area. The photo center seems to be open and I believe it's cheaper than Walgreens and CVS.

I think you should send them this time because they aren't doing biometrics right now.. since that's where they take your photos to use on the EAD.. they will probably need the passport photos.
i sent my renewal on Wednesday and i took the passport photos at CVS. You should try another CVS. One will take them or try Costco like Chn said.

I just got my EAD card and they reused my picture from my biometrics 2 years ago, even though I included current passport photos with my application. I think OP can go either way, send them or not send them.

I did mine at a Walmart a few weeks ago.

If you have a flat white wall (or a white sheet and can get it to hang with no wrinkles) you can take photos yourself with your phone and then use an online passport photo website to order photos for a few bucks.

My lawyer said some of his client's had application sent back due to missing passport photos. I would say try to send the packet in with the photos, if you can.

I literally only sent photos for my very first application in 2012, and that's because USCIS was going full "You only get one chance to apply, don't fuck it up", which as we all know now was complete bullshit as soon as the first RFE was posted here.

Haven't sent them since, they always just used a photo from my biometrics.

Back when I worked at a law office we only had an I-131 bounce once (out of a full AOS packet) because we missed one photo (5 rather than 6). The thing is that this client was an 11 year old kid who are generally exempt from biometrics.

I sent passport photos just in case since you don’t go to the application center to get your biometrics and photos taken. Just to be on the safe side.
