We can show support in other ways, via solidarity through social media, or donating to groups that fight racism. Can't fight the power if you get deported.

All lives do matter except they don't matter the same in the eyes of the police. Hell, even illegals are often left alone by the police.

Just reaching out to black friends and telling them you care about them and what they're going through means the world to them. Just as we have our own struggle with our immigration status, they're dealing with their own crisis so it makes us better people to try to see the world through someone else's eyes now and then despite our own issues.

I used to be of the same mindset whenever I heard the statement Black Lives Matter. I felt like all lives should matter. And they should. The reality is that they DON'T and that is the whole point. No one can deny the fact that we live in a society where preferential treatment is given depending on the color of your skin and blacks are at the bottom of that totem pole and have been for a long time.

The statement Black Lives Matter is a cry for justice and equality in a racist society that continuously marginalizes blacks. As marginalized immigrants ourselves we should understand that sentiment so I think it's rather callous for you to state that nobody cares. Racism impacts us too and if we ignore it when it is not aimed at us, then we are part of the problem.

People who say all lives matter are always the most racist

“Blue lives matters!!!” - remove the uniform ...? You can’t remove skin color

“White lives matter!!” - have white people been negatively impacted enslavement, a civil war, decades of systemic racism...?

“All lives batter!!” - This is another way of saying you don’t believe blacks people face racism from the cops

Blacks have been consistently shafted and have a long struggle towards equality. Everyone wants to be a black until the police come around.

Many of us know the same fear, despite only being latins. Cops don't like us either, but cops especially hate blacks. There is an assumption of guilt towards the black that is unfair and unjust.

Just like there is an assumption that brown = latin = Mexican = Illegal
there is an assumption that black = criminal = stole something

Saying "All Lives Matter" people are being willfully ignorant. They know damn well that "Black Lives Matter" doesn't mean that the other lives don't matter. It's to bring attention to the fact that a lot of black lives are lost at the hands of the police unjustly. To put it in Dreamer terms, it's like when we're asking and begging to get legal status and having a chance at the American Dream and some conservative says "What about Americans? Don't they deserve to dream?" It's completely ignorant and it's sad that people on here are repeating the same shit the people who want us deported are repeating.
