If he wins re-election, definitely. In fact, it will probably be terminated then.

The question is what position trump and his allies will take during the campaign, and how that affects the election. The smart thing would probably be to throw the issue under the rug and focus on other issues. But we know how it goes with trump/his people. The first time around (2016), he teased about ending DACA, but i dont think many people believed he would actually follow through on that. Now that people know he did actually try to end it, the stakes are different.

In his dissent in the SCOTUS DACA case Justice Thomas says The decision is “An effort to avoid a politically controversial but legally correct decision.”

I think he will leave it alone

Great, more years of uncertainty.....

Preferred for them to end it and obtain a solution....

The whole program is reinstated so we’re back to where we were pre-2017 including for advance parole and also for people who met the program rules but couldn’t file because they weren’t 15 in September 2017 when the program was rescinded.

What we can hope for now is Trump Admin to loosen up their demands and push for a legalization bill because for sure Democrats are not going to be putting any effort. Democrats are probably relieved and thinking "great...now we can chill and continue keeping the Dreamers for political reasons. No need to legalize, they are safe"

No. Democrats are not going to be working any further with this. They are done. Supreme Court has done the work for them.

If Trump wants to start the process for removing DACA again in these times during an election year it makes no sense. You can't put the majority blame on SC anymore, there's no one to scapegoat and it becomes obvious that you want to remove DACA.

He needs latino votes. He needs them ASAP. Cut a deal with dems for USA ACT or better with any amount for border security. He wins because if they call him a racist he has policy to back up he's not, which is very good for him right now in this current equal rights movement. He gets money for border security. He gets latino votes. He puts a policy in place that has 70%+ majority support among voters.

Killing 4 birds with one stone. To not do this is political suicide. But his hardheaded hard-line advisers are the only people getting in the way. I just don't understand how they don't see it.

The chances of a permanent solution has gone up by a small amount. If the Senate & Kushner were truly making a deal behind closed doors with some expectation of an SC ruling, that deal is still there. A SC ruling doesn't destroy any deal, it only changes the power dynamic of that deal. There's also people in Congress that want a policy to point to when they're being called a racist so they can win the next election, it's not only Trump. A policy with 70%+ support is literally the the lowest hanging fruit.

Let's see what happens next.

THIS. Admins please pin this post. This is exactly what needs to happen. Now Trumps got to loosen up his demands but Democrats better not back away from the table. I bet you 100% UWD will push for Democrats to walk away and leave the status quo in place. We need to fight against them.

DEFUND UWD!
