I was listening to the Joe Rogan Podcast with Peter Schiff (kind of a conservative blowhard but more a fiscal than social) who has moved his business to Puerto Rico and he was saying his male employees were really enjoying the women there because of scarcity of employed local males so in contrast, they were seen as super successful and were pretty much smashing it over there. I don't know if you're male or female but there you go. Here is the podcast: https://jrelibrary.com/1145-peter-schiff/

To tell you the truth, I haven't been looking for a job yet. I've been concentrated on settling in and looking to buy a car first. But when I do start look for a job it'll be something part time, I want to enjoy my time here on the island and don't want to spend all my time working. If I can make enough to pay the bills and beer I'll be set.

There are many factors why there's a high local male unemployment rate. I've been to the island many many times and I've noticed that there's plenty of job opportunities in different sectors but the "Island mentality" (work less, party more) dominates and that mentality goes for just about every island. And I don't blame them, who in the hell would want to work a lot when you're living in paradise? One of my biggest concerns was employment opportunities, I asked my friends I have in PR about that and they all pretty much said the same thing "aca hay trabajo, solo que la gente es vaga". The other reason is pay, the pay is not as high as it is in the states so most people leave the island. I came to PR on a mission to enjoy life more and work less, I'll be looking for a part time job to pay for beer. And another thing, there are a lot of Americans moving their companies to PR because PR either has huge tax breaks or you don't have to pay any federal taxes, something like that I'm not 100% sure.

Hi guys, I just wanted to give you guys an update on my move to Puerto Rico. It's been 3 months since I first moved to Puerto Rico and it's one of the best decisions I've made. The transition from the states to the island was not bad at all. Everything for the most part is pretty much the same as in the states, the only thing that was different is the process of getting a job, most if not all employers ask for more requirements then they do back in the states. For example, here in PR employers will ask you for a certification of good conduct, certification of health and you have to show evidence of your education (transcripts or diploma). But other then that everything is pretty much the same. I'm open to hosting any of you guys if you are planning on visiting the island (kinda like couchsurfing). Let me know if you interested. I'm also documenting living in PR in my Instagram, so feel free to check that out and follow my page. https://instagram.com/dreaminginpuer...=1kwhgnxo93m03

Hi guys, I'm here to give you guys an update. Well I just recently got engaged and will be getting married next year. I wasn't expecting any of this to happen upon on my move to Puerto Rico, I was planning on laying low and enjoying the island but it's crazy how things take a turn. I proposed in Flamenco Beach in the island of Culebra. I've never been married so have no idea what to do or what I really got myself into. If you guys have any ideas or tips of wedding ceremonies or anything like that please feel free to give advice. My girlfriend and I have never been married so this is all new to us and we're open to any ideas or suggestions.

Very cool. Sounds like you are having a blast. Best advice I can give you regarding the wedding is do what's best for you guys. Don't try to entertain others. It's your day.

Thank you, I totally agree! We want something on the beach or a beach/ocean view.

I'm moving to Puerto Rico next month. I'm really excited about this move, I've been to PR several times before and fell in love with the island the first time I went. This decision was made based on many factors, the biggest one is the uncertain future of DACA (if it's completely dismantled at least I'll be in a place where I like living in until my DACA expires). second factor is that I'm turning 30 next month too and I think it's time for me to take charge of my life and be where I want to be. Life is too short to wait and watch the US government use our lives as political pawns. Please give me your feedback or thoughts about my move, I'm interested to hear what you guys think.
Heya! Randomly came across your post and was wondering how did it go? Did you end up moving? Would love to know, thinking about the same thing.

Hey, yes I did move to Puerto Rico. I've been here 2 years now. I actually ended up getting married too. Moving to Puerto Rico is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
