So, I was part of those who sent their renewals earlier than the 150 days allowed (as per USCIS) back in June; there was a lot of uncertainty before the SCOTUS ruling.

I've kept checking my status case and it has not changed since they received my renewal:

Quote:
On June 10, 2020, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, Receipt Number IOE0*********, and mailed you a receipt notice or acceptance notice. It is being processed at our E-Filed Case Processing Section location.
At first I thought they put a hold on my renewal because of SCOTUS decision and USCIS racist statement, later I thought maybe they would wait until the 150-120 day period for me. Well, it's September already and I have yet to hear anything from them.

For reference, my EAD expires on 01/06/21; so
  • 150 days = Sunday, August 9, 2020
  • 120 days = Tuesday, September 8, 2020

Is anyone else in this situation?

You’re well within the processing time..

I follow another immigration forum and people who applied for changes in status in January are just now getting their biometric appointments. It doesn’t look like they’re waving bios anymore so there’s a huge backlog.

Interesting, that would explain the delay. Thanks for the info!

We sent my husband’s in June and it’s still shows as processing as well. He expires in March 2021. Which center is yours being processed at?

I sent my last renewal in like 13 months early and nothing happened until exactly 150 days before expiration.
