"when the media like broadcast media precisely, talks about the dream act, it always come with the title AMNESTY. Besides taht, it really pisses me off that while they talk about it, they present pictures of people jumping the border...ughh!!! it gets me pissed off because they are talking about people pursuing education or service to this country..it's an opportunity to people that speak good-fluent english, educated, and look no different from the rest!!! not some 35 yr. beaner guy that has his right leg over the border..it really throws their viewers off to think that this is for those people..AARRGGHH!! it's for us.. why dont they put clips of graduates or schools or at least something like taht helps out the cause..(never happening in this racist country) i always see that...everytime..a clip of someone jumping the border while they talk about DREAM...sure.. the USCIS is gonna be waiting under the sun in a little tent with a huge banner "PAPELES AQUI CABRONES"..all you have to do is cross it.. Evil or Very Mad

sorry if it offended some.. it's how i feel and it's okay to vent here right??"...sigh..."

sorry if i offended you..
The truth is that the majority of illegal immigrants came here illegally, not all of us are as lucky as u were to come here without having to risk our lives. And the truth is that the majority of students who came here illegally are the ones that will benefit.
you mentioned that this is a racist country. The phrase "35 yr. beaner" isn't precisely a nice description of a person. It's not that the people who cross the border are dirty, dangerous, rapists, and drug dealers, is that Americans are inclined to think that. We are just like them, and we shouldn't try to hide that. is just that we have the opportunity to change our lives through school and someday live in nice neighborhoods. But if we didn't have that chance, we would be doing the same jobs as they do. some of us are already doing that, cleaning houses and working in construction. "the 35 yr. old beaner" is the one who gets up at 5:30 and goes to work in the fields, and in the construction sites under the sun, and comes back at 6:30. p.m. and that same beaner, probably, wont have the chance to change his life. he will probably work like an animal his whole life to feed his kids and die like that, worried about his family, tired, and without never been to a fine place. while that, someone is in a restaurant with friends talking trash about the illegals, saying the most horrible things about them, enjoying the vegetables that a 35 yr. beaner picked the day before, being served by a woman who has worked all day long (that will probably be illegal too.)

We are going through hard times, dont you think that that same 35 yr. beaner is going trough through hard times too? Why would we feel offended when we are compared to them? is it that bad?
We all know why we came here, some of us, for security reasons, some because we didnt have anything to eat back in our countries even though our parents are doctors and lawyers. Instead of saying "yeah, im illegal, but im not a beaner, a wetback, i upper level because im a student" we all should be fighting to get this act passed and try to make this world a better place.

Sorry to write all this you guys, is just that that 35 yr. beaner could be my dad, or my mom. and i hate it, because they have suffered, they have left their lives in the construction sites, and those mansions in Beverly Hills. one of my parents is sick, and could die in any moment because he hasn't gone to see a doctor for the same reason, because he's 35 yr. beaner. probably, he will never enjoy all the money he has made through his work. And i get so mad when someone looks down on 'wetbacks" because they are brave, decent people who look for nothing, but a better life for their children.

Well said, bluedreams.

I do think, though, that the image of older people hopping the fence doesn't really fit with the Dream Act, because it gives the impression of someone who willingly came over, whereas our main argument rests on the fact that the dreamers did not break the law on purpose.
