I'd say keep the no AP/1-year renewal DACA in place.

Judge Hanen would strike down any new executive order that would expand DACA. My worse fear would be a court injunction ending DACA renewals before the case reaches the Supreme Court where DACA would most certainly be struck down.

Needless to say, DACA legislation in Congress is quite unlikely in this political and economic crisis.

That's true. I'm hoping that the Biden administration can maneuver the court system where DACA at least survives in its current state, as the administration should not plan or expect the senate to play nice.

In order for DACA legislation to pass, Democrats really need to avoid disaster in the 2022 Senate races while at the same time come up with a reasonable presidential candidate for 2024.

Another Clinton/Biden/Harris Democratic candidate is not going to cut it considering they all almost lost to Trump.

Almost lost to Trump? Not sure that's correct. He flipped AZ, and possibly GA, built back the blue "wall" and took the popular vote by almost 5MM votes. This was pretty convincing.

We can disagree on whether he almost lost or not, but I think we can agree that we can do better than Clinton/Biden/Harris.

There needs be democratic candidate that builds enthusiasm in his/her base in order to help down ballot. Democrats marginally won the House where they lost seats, and they lost (or most likely will lose) winnable *Senate seats in North Carolina, Georgia, Iowa, and Maine.
