We stayed (in the country we grew up) once we turned 18 even with no status.

This is the worst unforgivable crime in the world...

This is the most amazing and sad truth. Punch someone? Maybe spend a night in jail and pay $500 and you're an outstanding member of society again. Steal a car? Society forgives you after a year in jail. Robbed a bank? you'll be out and forgiven after a few years. Hell, even murderers often get out after a decade or so.

But you were brought to the US as a child and you dared to grow up and get older and didn't go back to a country you barely if at all remember? You will NEVER be forgiven. You must always pay for your parents' crime...even if they're legal now.
