No. Reconciliation is for budgetary/deficit spending matters and there are specific rules for bills to pass through reconciliation. I also saw someone here mention the Defense authorization bill. That is also a No. There are few things most members of Congress agree on and authorizing defense spending and military compensation is one. Congress just overrode Trumps veto of the Defense bill a few days ago.

I have a lot of hope for CIR now that the Democratic party controls the Senate. Senate has always been the easier chamber for CIR. But I'm seeing way too much anxiety on here. Everyone has to relax, know it won't be easy, and it probably won't happen on the first day, or even in the Spring, but it'll happen.

we don't have 10 votes in the Senate for green cards. You know the trash Hawley, Cruz will filibuster anything related to immigration. We may 2-3 votes shy to reach the filibuster thresh hold.

Not sure that's possible in the current state of the country. We aren't very high on the hierarchy of priorities. Just saying don't get too hopeful but we sure will welcome if something does happen next two years.

I think Dems can be united on this which leaves the need for 10 Republicans.

Some possible targets are
Susan Collins
Lisa Murkowski
Mitt Romney
Lindsay Graham
Rick Scott
Pat Toomey
Ben Sasse?
Joni Ernst?
John Cornyn?
Richard Burr?
Rubio?

Anyone else? Looks tough lol

Yea, but it's always something. There's always going to be another thing that's more important. Congress needs to learn to multitask. What if there's another 'something' in two years? I just feel like we need to be the ones to push it. If we don't put pressure on them, then we will be forgotten. We might not be successful, but we need to at least try.

Can’t Schumer just go Nuclear? Mitch did it with the tax bill and SC judges.

This! He cares more about his ny wall st donors than anything. He just appears shady to me.

He can't go nuclear without Joe Manchin, and Joe already came out against it. So that's pretty much off the table.
