Stimulus check - Page 4

So I updated my SSN/card to say valid for work with DHS authorization mid last year. When does that take effect in terms of qualifying for the stimulus? I have yet to receive the $600, and I definitely don't want to miss out on the potential $2k.

Once again, if anyone did not get either of the stimulus checks by the time you do your taxes, make sure you claim the RECOVERY REBATE CREDIT. It is a refundable credit. Only thing is it will be based on your 2020 income:

Would this $600 be counted towards 2020 or 2021?

The way it is..They use your 2019 return. If you haven’t filed that, they use 2018. For that recovery rebate credit they will use your 2020 income.
