This was brought up to me multiple times but I refuse to marry for papers. I rather leave the country than to get into marriage to stay in the country.

I'm just glad that people in my family age very slowly or I'd be completely gray by now.

I feel like that a lot of times. Sounds like a midlife crisis. But really, you didn’t waste it if you learned something from it and got stronger because whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

I have pretty bad anxiety and occasionally get panic attacks so I feel ya. Life just sucks as you get older. Best time of your life is when you’re young and carefree and just ignorant of everything and hopeful & positive about what life will bring you, not knowing the real world. Ignorance is bliss. If you enjoyed your youth, you did not waste your life. Being an adult sucks so do not worry, we are all in the same boat. I am just scared of death now and what ceasing to exist will be and if there is an afterlife and what happens after death. I have given up on life and just live the minimal things that give me happiness and go with the flow. I just hope there’s some meaning to this at the end, that is all.

lol 4 years?? I have wasted oh...around 29 years of my life? Probably around the time I turned 16 and all my friends were driving and I couldn't.

Got to keep your head up. It's a mental battle, but I try to focus on my work so I don't think about my status as much.

We shouldn't think negative, I am with rogue414 in regards to having a family, a job, [health], and most importantly, a roof over our heads.

Generally speaking - DACA made things much easier for a lot of us, harder for some (those that still struggled to find a job, took me months to find one myself), but it also made a dream come true for others (especially those that took advantage of AP - I was/am too fearful of stepping outside the border with a CHANCE of being denied re-entry mostly due to being deported as a minor).

The way I see it, there are others that wish they had a work permit, a social, the ability to open a simple credit card. Because of this program many of us were blessed with the ability to work legally, get a driver's license, get our own apartments, buy/rent our own houses, buy/lease our own cars, and even build a credit. Now we don't have to worry/stress/feel ashamed about that dreaded question and line on an application: "social security number".

Many of us finally got a taste of the "American" life. We have limitations, we can't leave the country at our will, we have annoying 2-year renewal applications + fees, and stressful waiting and waiting for an approval and permit in the mail but for the most part most of us are in far better places than we were over 8 years ago.

Many of us were scraping by, living at our parents without the ability to work, struggling day to day, looking over our shoulders for a possible unexpected "visit", without being able to drive, without credit and much less without the ability to just go out feel a bit more at ease.

Yeah, we have a shadow. The fear of being rejected at our next renewal, the fear of the program being scrapped, losing our jobs, losing our assets, losing our "freedom" to be able to stay here legally and it sucks, it really does.

But I tend to think that life has a way of working out, I have to, or I wouldn't have the will to continue on. We should think this way. I am thankful for DACA, I really am.

I wanted to add that it is ok to not be ok. If this is the case, please seek out support - be it through professional counseling or through family and friends. I myself have dealt with anxiety the last half a year. Well-meaning people telling me 'to get over it' was not helpful. Please take care of yourself! Your mental health is very important.
