The reason June - Trump's shadow will be long gone by then, everyone would be judging Biden's 100 days by then. Republicans have to keep their mouth shut right now because a lot of the moderate voters are backing Biden's new admin. They want Biden to be able to do things. They will absolutely hate and even leave the Republican Party if they continue to fillerbuster every single legislation. So Biden has about 100 days of honey moon with up to 1 year to do anything crazy with 51/50 slim majority. 2022 is going to be mid-term so there is not much he can do and at that point Republicans will be attacking the Democrats. So yeah, Biden has really just 1 year at most to do Anything crazy.
So he better get his immigration, climate change, healthcare, justice and police reform, education, and tax code reform done in 1 year. Sounds too much? Yeah. He has to pick 3.... guess which?
We're fucked, aren't we?

I'll venture to say that all Democrats and 15-20% of Replubicans senators favor a permanent solution for DACAers.

This is our year!

Well, talk about us padding on our own backs for 8 years during the Obama administration "yeah it's 2008, we need to recover the economy before we can convince the American people". "Yeah it's 2011 the economy is just getting back but hey we need are in election year, so let's wait!"

"wait we lost the control of congress, so let's wait until budget time and bundle CIR/DA with CR".

Every year.

Sounds familiar eh? "We need to defeat COVID so we can convince the American people."

I think it's doable this year. But they ought to be very quick. They really need to tackle daca separately as their first immigration bill. It's the easiest to get support. If they try to do CIR again like in 2011, 2012, we might see it dragging for a couple months. I am confident it will pass, somehow, but not going to be pretty and the CIR will be half-baked and terrible.

Yep, was think more along the lines of influencing what other senators take seriously and actually help pass instead of just doing an about face and voting no down the list.

Honestly I kind of hope they attack immigration quietly...

Thanks to Trump and his idiot policy, I was forced to submit I-944 (https://www.uscis.gov/i-944), so today my wife and I went to our attorney office and had one filed. I don't know when USCIS/Biden will drop this entirely, and I don't want to time the market so we did it anyway.

For now, I am just lucky my wife is petitioning so either way I am safe. I hope daca-ers will get their fair share via this immigration bill soon as well. But right now, I am under DACA, hoping will get my green card by summer time via my wife, or from Biden, whichever comes first.

Awesome. Best of luck with the process.
