glacier - yes they are compiled by one source - but they are referencing a variety of sources that can be checked. the work citizenhope did also puts thing concisely - which is very important. as everyone says - you are not going to convince the alipacers, and it is a waste of time to try - but you do need to have concise, persuasive arguments for the basic assumptions people have against immigration. And most people lump DREAM and immigration all together. You have to get past the "illegal is illegal" argument if you are going to get anywhere.

Ping,
I do agree with you. That is why it is important we get the media to cover our side. I like Rick Sanchez on CNN. I liked the USA Today articles about the students. We need much more of this. I am sick to death of Dobbs and Pat Buchanan on TV every day ad nauseum.

Ping said:Education should be presented as a matter of wasting the money we have already invested in these students, why should we import high skilled workers from abroad when we have them right here, blah blah blah...I don't think the question of "education or drop out" is going to work very well, because they'll just say, "neither--deport".

Mrs Mom,
You are right. We will not ever convince an alipacer of anything.
But when we realize they are targetting a site, keep a list of standard arguments on a separate document and cut and paste your paragraphs. That is what they do. Or they rant and rave.
When in a battle with them, use their same tools.

We are also proud citizens with RIGHT on our side, so we need to walk and talk patriotic when battling Alipac.
Never be defensive, instead, patriotic.

Ping,

You are right. That is exactly Alipacers response to this argument.
But you know what, they look very xenophobic when they say this.
Their true colors come out all for the American Public to see.
The don´t want assimilation. They want mass deportation. The American Public and Congress does not.
We may have the right on our side, but that doesn't mean that it is obvious to everybody. We have to show them why we are right, not just insist that we are. As my writing teachers have always said, "show, don't tell".

Education should be presented as a matter of wasting the money we have already invested in these students, why should we import high skilled workers from abroad when we have them right here, blah blah blah...I don't think the question of "education or drop out" is going to work very well, because they'll just say, "neither--deport".
I think it is also a good idea to talk about how much the DREAM students will contribute through work. I think sometimes we forget that the majority of Americans don't have a college education. So only stressing the value of gaining an education for DREAM students isn't going to resonate with your average person - and will probably make many resentful.

Mrs Mom,
I agree with you.
We need more good news stories.
Someone should write to Rick Sanchez.
Are you all students? Do you know true life stories?
Another good contact is Ruben Navarette. He writes some very good articles.

Mrs Mom,
Just to add on, I like your Work perspective to the argument.
Education = Better Jobs-Careers and ultimately more revenue and tax dollars for the US

Also, Mrs Mom, the inverse is we keep students from being drop outs. Many equate drop outs to welfare and drugs.

All PROs should have a blog. They should encourage all of their friends, all of the millions of marchers to have a Blog. Our voices need to be heard, loud and strong, particularly before the next election. We can all link to each other. That is what the ANTIs have done. We should do the same.

As I mentioned earlier, here is mine: http://immigrationmexicanamerican.blogspot.com/
