Here is my translation

Section 1: reiterates DACA in its original form.

Section 2: Gives broad power to DHS to enhance the program.
This could mean a lot, and it could be genius approach, as it gives DHS the power to dictate new rules to enhance the program.
Example: add more years, add AP, etc.

Section 3: Protection against lawsuits.

Cheers!

Don’t forget that in the current Texas lawsuit it’s MALDEF that is on the defense for DACA, not the government. The DOJ was arguing on the side of Texas to end DACA.

This EO tells the DOJ they must now defend it in court which is HUGE.

Man if they are going to kill daca, do it now and light a fire under lawmakers' asses. Dont wait until Congress is split or another Trump-like republican is in the white house.

This is the text of the DACA executive order Biden just signed.

Is a BS executive order if you ask me, no 4 year extension or any other enhancements. I think Biden just wanted to make noise. It simply says that the AG should do whatever he thinks necessary to fortify it, lol, that wont hold water in court. I don't even know what the purpose of this document is, lol.

Why would it protect daca from lawsuits? Last I checked executive branch can't tell what judicial branch can or can't do.

Well, i would not just extend daca without correcting issues and potential weaknesses. When you correct those, then extend it 4 year, harder for texas to sue.

Extend it to 10 years, why stop at 4?

Exactly, it makes absolutely no sense, although I've just read somewhere else that this doc gives an open card to the AG once he gets confirmed to add any changes he thinks could improve daca, things like: longer renewals, move dates required for qualification, advance parole changes etc.

if you make it 10y, I think that opens daca up to more litigation on the basis that it is becoming a green card. I am not 100% sure on that though so don't quote me.
