Upvote 100%. People are delusional if they think watering these bills down is going to get any of the republicans on board. Democrats entertaining the fake concerns of the GOP and their bad faith arguments is what got us to where we are today. I don't understand how some people fail so hard at logic, it's almost as if we haven't witnessed these senators in action for the past 4 years.

We are barely one month past a failed insurrection in which they let their crook who incited it off the hook, these guys are completely morally bankrupt and nothing they say can be trusted. They'll throw out multiple demands claiming only if these are met they will support a bill and then turn around and shit all over it in the end. Who really thinks these scumbags have any shred of integrity and are willing to come to the table to negotiate fairly with democrats on any form of immigration relief?

For the senate GOP, it's all about their bases and not about personal feelings. No republican is going to cast vote on immigration if their base votes them out of office. Trump is still strong with his base and most of the GOP is scare of them.

For a republican to votes yes, the bill to provide enough cover in the form of border security and their other wants, that way, when election time comes, they can say they voted for border security and not dreamers.

I don't believe this for a second, The GOP turned covid into a political issue by encouraging their stupid voters to rail against wearing masks. They manipulated their own voters into rejecting healthcare and most policies that are actually beneficial to their livelihoods.

The notion that the GOP is "simply afraid of their base is pure BS". They love leaking statements via proxies to the media who regurgitate this garbage and make GOP senators look like fragile innocent victims simply scared for their lives. All while they have gasoline in hand and a blowtorch fanning the Q conspiracies and whatever sensational BS they hatch on a daily basis. They love when the left explain away their deplorable behavior by WHITESplainin it away attributing fear as the driving force simply because the actual reality is even more sinister.
The GOP chooses their voters and not the other way around. They groom their rabid base via a host of propanaganda spewing networks and actually train them on what to accept and what to be outraged about. If the GOP wanted to actually help us they would have absolutely NO issue convincing their voters to go along with it.

Trump is basically a king in the eyes of republican voters and he and the Entire GOP leadership got a pass on grifting, committing crimes, obstructing investigations, contributed to the deaths of 100s of thousands via their negligence in handling the pandemic, tried to start a war with foreign countries for mere distraction alone...I could go on to ad nauseam.

My point is that anything these guys want to support they can. We have seen them get away with everything so far as long as they are sucking Trump's d*ck while doing it the base falls in line.

"The Dems need to do better on border security" bs is the same con the GOP pulled on Obama to the point where Obama was deporting immigrants in record numbers trying to appease the GOP and they turned around and tried to destroy every effort to help us.

Democrats need to grow a set and nuke the filibuster, ram progressive bills through and sell that shit to voters the same way the GOP does to their base or else we will all be in this same position 4- 8 years from now, its beyond ridiculous pretending that their is any point to appeasing republicans.

Exactly, Democrats need to stop being little bitches in front of camera and complaining about how unfair the Republicans are acting. Democrats need to fuck up the bully and get shit done. You don't appease a misbehaving child, you punish them and take away their toys.
