How are you ! All
My green card finally arrived in the mail today . After reviewing the info in the card , everything is correct except one thing , the country of birth in my card is shown as “ unknown “ . I have no idea how did this happen
My attorney said not to worry about it , because it’s not important . My concern is that “ will it cause any issue when I travel outside the US , then come back ? Some attorneys suggested to get it corrected . To get it corrected , I have to file I-90 and then send back the card , then wait for another 8-15 months .

Did same thing happen to anyone of you ? Can you please share your experience ?

Thanks !

They are correct.
Don't think about it and do it. You will save yourself a lot of headaches in the future!

For example my mom's SS card has very long name ( De then her last ) it's not an issue until you want to look something up and it doesn't fit in the correct box or when my brother tries to apply for FAFSA.

I just found out that my attorney’s assistant put “ city which I was born at “ in the “ country of birth field “ in I-485 form .
So the mistake is on our side . I did submit my birth certificate. I don’t understand why USCIS didn’t correct this mistake .

It means if I file I-90 , I also have to pay the $540 fee again plus waiting time .
Some attorneys said “ just ignore it , it’s not important” , it will not cause any issue for travel . Some attorneys suggested to get it replaced . I am still considering .
