So I know you all saw the news recently of the girl who had an interview in Mexico , she had daca before she was 18 and was still given a ban. I believe there’s more to the story than we know

My interview date is coming soon I can feel it since people a month ahead of me are starting to get interview dates (Colombian embassy bogota).
I had ewi when I was two (1997) , got daca when I was 17(meaning I did not accuse illegal presence since I have continued to have daca since I was 17) , and am now 1 year married with my US citizen wife.
Anything I should be worried about ? My lawyer gave me a sheet with her info in case of any issues but we all know that isn’t worth much . Any additional documentation I should take just in case or anything anyone recommends ?
Extremely nervous and my biggest nightmare would be to get a ban.

Do you have anything other than the EWI that could cause issue during the interview? Maybe you should apply for AP just in case.

Not 100% sure if AP will clear EWI, but it's there if something goes wrong during your interview. More of a insurance policy.

It's more so that you're able to return to the U.S. at this point

Yes... there is more or to that story; each case is different.

I know which girl you're talking about... Her problem is that in 2003 she tried to enter legally but her visa was canceled at the point of entry. This very likely ended in a 5 year ban, but her parents brought her over a month later without inspection. Because she never served her 5 year ban, the ban was converted into a permanent ban. She was little and probably didn't know her full story.

If the EWI is your only problem, then it doesn't look like you'll have any issues. Make sure to bring all your EAD cards to the interview to show that you've never been without DACA after you turned 18.

Excuse my ignorance but what is an EWI?

90% of the time that, some people in the old days would come with a passport that isn’t there’s or a fake visa , etc.
